Currently, I'm a Software Developer at Empire Medical, where we use PHP and Laravel to build and maintain a custom business application. We're a smaller team but super effective—I get to make meaningful contributions on a consistent basis. Before my current position, I mainly worked in the JavaScript ecosystem, so I'm proficient there as well. I also offer web development services as a freelancer. In all the work I do, I strive to deliver exceptional user experiences.

Here are seven lessons I've learned

Not participating in or actively shaping company culture results in the death of company culture. On the flip side,
Actively shaping culture, and caring about the people you work with, especially as a leader, results in 'buy-in' and people wanting to get their hands dirty for the mission.
You can get more things done when you have the right people making decisions. Policy can hinder progress, but you always win when you trust the process. It's a fine line.
When working on a new codebase, get comfortable navigating around all of it as quickly as possible.
Read the docs... again!
Taking the time to research before starting a project or task can save you a lot of headache.
Don't just bring up problems; offer solutions.

Touch Base uses React-Router for frontend navigation and Node.js & Express for its backend API, connected to a PSQL database. It features a fully responsive design, full CRUD capabilities for contacts and groups, Firebase Auth, and SendGrid for email functionality. AWS S3 is used for image hosting and a demo login lets you easily tour the app and safely perform all actions. New feature: you can now import contacts from a CSV file. Doubles is a React based number doubling game

Built with React and Vite, Doubles offers a true SPA experience. It features an intuitive UI designed for focused, exciting gameplay. Race against the timer to double numbers as far as you can, starting from a fixed or random number. The game saves your high score using localStorage and features easy, medium, hard, and extra hard modes. When the game is over you can review all of your answers or simply click to share your results in a fun way. Keyboard shortcuts are available for quick and easy gameplay.
